  Is there a place for faith in modern society? Atheism has recently become more prominent. Secularists argue that faith is at best a strictly private matter, of no real public relevance. On the other hand, there is growing interest in "spirituality" and the supernatural. It's the growth section in bookshops, magazines and films. It can be a reaction against materialism and technology, as well as a search for fulfilment and something authentic.
